Hi, my name is Joshua Chacon, and I’m the proud owner of Self Defense Products LLC. My mission is to help people understand the importance of non-lethal self-defense tools, empowering them with the products they need to feel safe and confident every day.

Self Defense Products LLC was officially registered in 2012, but its roots go back to the early ’90s when a World War II veteran gave me and a friend two pepper sprays in our trick-or-treat bags. He told us, “If you’re ever outnumbered, spray this in their face and run away.”

Months later, one of my friends found himself in a dangerous situation and used the pepper spray in self-defense. I saw firsthand how it helped him get out of harm’s way. If it weren’t for that World War II veteran, my life might have taken a completely different path. He’s the true hero, and I’m just the messenger.

Working as an addiction counselor gave me a deep understanding of various behaviors—criminal behavior, addiction struggles, and emotional trauma. During those early years, I saw the dangers people face daily and how essential self-defense can be. This understanding inspired me to build a company that makes safety, security, and protection accessible to everyone.
